| About Us The Piper name in boatbuilding was established in 1969 when David Piper started his narrowboat building business. Now, over 40 years later David's son Simon operates Piper Boats, the UK's leading manufacturer of inland waterway craft for use throughout Europe. Our 17,000 square feet manufacturing facility is based in Biddulph in North Staffordshire and each of the 1000 Piper boats in the water today are steeped in tradition (and still going strong with some over 40 years old!) We encourage visits to our manufacturing facility where you can then see similar boats being built and discuss your own perfect boat face-to-face with Piper Boats' designers. Our bespoke CAD design service puts you at the drawing board stage of of your boat's build. Internal layouts can be changed and agreed before the build actually starts and the flexible service puts you in control of your boat's: Style & function We also like to share our own experiences on the waterways in the UK and Europe. Sharing ideas and exploring new ways to make sure our designs are constantly evolving.
